There is a brewing controversy following the “meeting” between President Muhammadu Buhari and British supermodel Naomi Campbell at the Eko Atlantic City, Lagos.
The presidency had shared photos of Buhari, Campbell, Bola Tinubu andGovernor Akinwunmi Ambode at the Eko Atlantic City, saying that the president was on tour of the site.
This caused a stir on social media, with various Nigerians asking what Campbell’s mission at the site was. Campbell also tweeted, with photos to go, that it “was a pleasure to be invited by His Excellency The President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to the private launch of Eko Atlantic.”

In what can be termed a reaction, the presidency, in a tweet by Bashir Ahmad, Buhari’s personal assistant (New Media) said Buhari and Campbell “only met at the Eko Atlantic City” and that Campbell wasn’t invited by the president.
Ahmad tweeted: “For the sake of clarity, President (Buhari) didn’t invite Ms. Naomi Campbell to any event during his 2-day visit to Lagos State. They only met at the Eko Atlantic City while Mr. President was touring the project, and she requested to take photos with him.”
